Changi City Point Mall
I'm not really much of a shopper, but at one point while traveling, I was introduced to the wonder that is the outlet store. These are shops that sell mostly out of season or stock goods at prices lower than the regular stores, and in places where the manufacturing is located, the prices can get really low. (Hello, Nike Factory Outlet store in China!)
I never considered looking for outlet shops in Singapore before, but thought I'd do so during this trip, as it was past Great Singapore Sale date when we went. Fortunately, one was pretty accessible to our itinerary.
Location: Across Singapore Expo. Take MRT Green line and go down at EXPO station.
The Changi City Point Mall is located across the Singapore Expo, so you only have to get off at the MRT Expo station and cross the street. It's actually pretty far from the city center, being one station away from Changi airport, so my suggestion if you're not staying near the area is to drop by if you have an early flight in, or a late flight out. In our case, we arrived in Singapore at 10am which is too early for the usual check-in at 1pm. We packed light, too, so it wasn't much of a hassle to visit the mall with our stuff. We got there just as it opened.
The factory outlets of note are:
Adidas
Nike
Esprit
Coldwear
Samsonite
Royal Sporting House
Lacoste
Skechers
... and a few others. My husband's eyes lit up when we went inside the Nike store. I did end up getting something at Skechers at a huge discount than normal. (Skechers here only gives at most 10% discount on their products.) Also bought something at Esprit, where the blouses were hung according to price starting at 9.90SGD. Was VERY tempted by the jackets and coats in Coldwear, but it wasn't practical considering where we live.
In retrospect though, there wasn't much difference in value to buying outlet goods there and just waiting for the stores here in Manila to go on sale. With Nike, I wasn't as impressed as I've been to their outlet in China. (Well, it's China.) The Esprit store had a lot of items, but you could get good chance deals in their local stores, too. Samsonite, I think, had the best offers considering the brand, but only if you were in the market for new luggage. (The draw might be high if, say, you went to the mall before leaving the country and needed more room than your current suitcases allowed.)
Of course, one could argue that it isn't everyday you get to shop in Singapore, and for people who do go there with that purpose, the stores in Changi City Point Mall are definitely worth a visit.

The mall's food court. The bus boys and cleaning staff were mostly Filipino. It was really awesome hearing them joke around with each other in Tagalog. :) |
This was a novelty: The mall has a waterpark! It's located just outside the food court. |
Must note: Only children are allowed to play in the waterpark, but with adult supervision. |
If you're asking, there's no pool. But you'll definitely get wet. Make sure your child has a change of clothes! |
Another note: there's no shower room, but there's a washroom where your child can change. |

Wow! We'll definitely check that out when we go back to SG in June!
